in my family, when one turns 18 years of age, all the family and friends gather around to wish upon them the best energy and the best years to come. we normally do it with the classic fitinhas do bonfim; we tie the bracelet on the birthday person and wish them the best on their path.
just as important, on this assignment, we were asked to do visit cards that weren't obvious visit cards. these were mine, bracelets with powerful words to be wished upon the person, as well as containing my name, my number and my website. here, for this project that would be the last stop before my adult life began i decided to recreate my family tradition, filled with what i want and wish upon myself for the rest of my life: brasilidade.
words like cafuné, sambarilove, ziriguidum, malemolência, zunzunzun and borogodó were in the bracelets.
the fitinhas da brasilidade consist in always carrying with me the aspect of being ultra brazilian on my trajectory, and to never forget that that's what i'm shaped of. with a vocabulary of super brazilian concepts i wished upon me and my colleagues a lot of passion, rhythm, care and the most powerful energy so all their wishes can be fulfilled. it's about this rite of passage and how even though it's extremely brazilian, it can also be universally appreciated; it's about sharing one's culture and realising it can fit anywhere.
